Helicopter Crashes in Pottsville; All 3 on Board Survive - Friday, May 30, 2008 at 10:30PM EST

POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- A medical helicopter crashed shortly after taking off in Pottsville around 9:00 P. M. Friday injuring the three people on board.

The pilot and two paramedics on board survived the accident, which happened at the 1400 block of Laurel Boulevard, right by the United Metals building.

One was taken by ambulance to Pottsville Hospital while the other two were flown by another helicopter to the hospital. They are all said to have non life-threatening injuries.

According to officials at the scene, the chopper was responding to a car accident in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County when the crash happened.

State Police have called the FAA in to conduct an investigation. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
