Hick's Creek Flooding Concerns

Hick's Creek Flooding Concerns - Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 11:58PM EST

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 @ 11:58pm EST

Exeter, Luzerne County - A large crowd turned out in Exeter to talk about the ongoing flooding from Hick's Creek. Congressman Paul Kanjorski and county officials were on hand to hear complaints and discuss some possible solutions. It looks like a short term solution was reached.

The county will provide the necessary $100,000 dollars for the project. The long-term solution is to make Hick's Creek part of the ongoing levee raising project.

The permanent solution to flooding in Exeter isn't expected to take effect until four or five years from now.

In the meantime, Exeter will be granted two new pumps from a manufacturer in Carbon County .
