Montoursville, Lycoming County-
Some elementary school students in Montoursville got a special visit from a group of high schoolers Friday.
The students were dressed as characters from the musical “Once Upon A Mattress,” which they will be performing on April 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
It’s based on the popular children’s book, “The Princess and the Pea.”
The high schoolers read the book to their younger peers Friday.
Musical Director Gretchen Carpenter explained, “It’s just a fun time for the kids to get out and interact with the younger kids. And we hope when the younger kids get to high school, they’ll remember this and want to be in our musicals.”
Montoursville elementary schoolers can also meet the characters at a breakfast Saturday from 9:30 to 11 in the high school cafeteria.
