Hit & Run Victim Speaks Out

Hit & Run Victim Speaks Out - Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 6:52PM EST

One of two men, nearly killed by a hit and run driver, was speaking out on Thursday. The hit and run happened a week ago. Two young men were hit and left for dead along the Pittston by-pass.

Both men were just released from the hospital, but doctors say they could have died. 19-year-old Michael Inman from West Pittston is home now recovering from numerous injuries, including a broken pelvis.

He and his friend, 20-year-old Drew Hughes of West Wyoming , were riding their bikes along the Pittston Bypass last Thursday when they were struck down by an S. U.V. When that driver took off he dragged Inmans bike with him.

Inman told us he never knew what hit him. "I remember I was riding my bike the next thing I knew I’m in the hospital I must have been knocked out on impact. I heard skid marks tire burning no headlights on us, I thought it was from another street. I guess it wasn't."

Police are looking for a light-colored S. U.V., possibly a Ford Explorer, with front-end damage.
