SHAWNEE, MONROE COUNTY Ð Also this weekend is the Pocono Garlic Festival. It's at Shawnee Mountain in Monroe County.
All of the garlic used at the festival is locally grown. There are more than 50 vendors showing off their garlic concoctions.
You can sample typical foods like pierogies sautŽed in garlic -- or something a little different -- like garlic ice cream - you can even eat the stuff raw.
One chef gave us her advice for hiding your garlic breath after the event. "Maybe not using the word "hello" - but instead using "good morning." You know the effect is not as strong," said Alice Colin.
The chef told us the real secret to kicking garlic breath is to chew on fennel or parsley. | |
