SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The Christmas Holiday Bureau is seeking donations to help low income families.

The Bureau, operated by the Voluntary Action Council, provides gift cards to those in need who have applied for help.

Last year the Bureau provided an estimated $70,000 to families and individuals.

The number of requests has gone up this year.

All of the Bureau's finances come through donations.

Those who would like to donate can contact the Christmas Holiday Bureau at 538 Spruce Street in Scranton, PA 18503-1816.
