STROUDSBURG - Carol Clark never expected her family would spend Thanksgiving at a soup kitchen. "It's upsetting," she cried.

Carol and her three kids lost everything when fire destroyed their home in East Stroudsburg two weeks ago.

Others lost even more. The fire in that double block house killed two people, which is why Carol says she has something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. "That I have my kids and that they didn't go in the fire," she said.

Carol's kids are ten, eight and two. They said they are also thankful. "I'm lucky I didn't get burned in the fire," explained eight year old Dejawn.

After the fire the Red Cross put the family up in a hotel for a week. Then a kind stranger donated another week. But now they have no place to go. They have to be out of the hotel Friday morning.

Carol cried, "I just want a place for my kids to go, like a place for them to live."

Carol tries to be strong in front of her children but when she turns out the lights in the hotel room, only the little ones sleep. "I stay up. It's depressing," she said.

Carol doesn't know where she will take her children Friday but the Clarks are trying to stay positive and thankful for what they do have.

"I got my family and I got my friends," said Dejawn.
