SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Scranton city officials condemned a house forcing two families from their home. They were originally called to 335 Oak Street for a report that a child was left in the cold partially clothed. When officers got there, the kids were inside and dressed. Police say they found extremely poor living conditions inside the home.

Police say two sisters live there, one of them has two kids and the other has five kids. Investigators say the home they were living in had to be condemned because of the bad living conditions.

Mark Seitzinger, Scranton Director of Building Codes said, "Filth. Dirt in the floors, food on the floors, matches laying all over the place. It's Not suitable for anybody, especially children to be living in."

Police say no charges will be filed against the adults for right now. The families are being helped by the United Neighborhood Centers with shelter and food. As for the initial call of kids left outside in the cold, Eyewitness news was told four children ages ages 6 through 9 came home to an empty house after being let out out of school early. Two other children were still in day care.
