How the Grinch Stole... Easter?

How the Grinch Stole... Easter? - Friday, April 10, 2009 at 6:10PM EST

LEHIGHTON, CARBON COUNTY -- We've all heard how the Grinch stole Christmas, but it appears he's moving in on Easter. Just ask Debbie Zehner.
"When we came across the front lawn, we realized our big wooden bunny out front was taken," said Zehner.

But this isn't the first time Debbie's decorations have disappeared. Several were taken at Christmas.

"Those decorations were closer to the street, this one was right up on my house, so now they're getting closer to my front door," she said.

Her neighbors are concerned about the trespassers, and they also don't want to lose Debbie's holiday spirit.

"It's private up here, and to have people come up here and scout out your property, it's disconcerning," said Roger Wood, Debbie's neighbor. "I hope she doesn't stop decorating, because we enjoy it."

His 12-year-old daughter agrees.

"I'd be very disappointed, because I just love what she does," said Jaclyn Wood. "And I'd be very disappointed if someone took that away."

Debbie says she spends days preparing her house for the holidays, and some decorations are irreplaceable. She adds, she'll continue her tradition -- IF the Grinch gives back the Easter Bunny.

"Please return it, and if you have my christmas stuff too, please return that also," said Debbie. "I'd really appreciate it."

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call police in Lehighton.
