Hugo Selinski in Court; Victim's Family Responds

Hugo Selinski in Court; Victim's Family Responds - Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 10:30PM EST

Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County -

The families say they have had it and want this to end once and for all. Selenski insists he is innocent, but the family of his alleged victims say he is a cold- blooded killer. They had a few choice words for him today.

Hugo Selenski is accused of killing Micheal Kerkowski and Tammy Fasset. Their bodies were found buried on his Kingston Township property in 2003. Selenski is never at a loss for words. In court today, he tried to fire his lawyers and wants to be moved back to the Luzerne County prison. This was the same prison he escaped from 5 years ago.

Hugo Selinski states, “They have merit in that complaint, but it is not going to happen. All I want is a trial.”

In court, Selenski was very animated and often smirked during arguments. But for these people it is painful to watch. The Kerkowski's and Fasset families had some tough words of their own.

Lisa Sands, Tammy Fasset’s sister says, “I’d like his eyeballs in my hands and his smirk ripped off his face.”

Gerry Kerkowski, Michael Kerkowski’s mother says, “There's so much hatred in my heart. It's a terrible thing to say. But I see him and oh I just can't tell you what I feel. I wish I could do something but I can't."

For these folks the loss is unbearable.

Lisa concludes, “I bear with it, but there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my sister, my best friend.”

The judge will rule on Selenski's lawyer and prison request in several weeks. His trial should take place at the end of January.
