SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Firefighters from near and far flooded a funeral home in West Scranton Tuesday evening to pay their respects to a Scranton fire captain killed in the line of duty Sunday.

50-year-old James Robeson leaves behind a wife, son and other family members.

The veteran of the force was killed when the bucket of his ladder truck became charged from a nearby voltage line. Department members were responding to a structure fire on Ash Street early Sunday morning. Tragically, two other people, Richard and Maria Fenstermacher, died in the blaze. The Fenstermachers lived in the burning house. They died from smoke inhalation, according to reports.

All three deaths were ruled accidental Tuesday by the Lackawanna County Coroner's Office.

Was power to a trio of high voltage lines ordered cut by the fire department? An investigation into issues concerning communication with power company workers and the fire department continues. An initial investigation has revealed power to the home was shut off. It was a charge from a series of lines above the street that delivered the fatal shock to Captain Robeson.

Meanwhile, firefighters from hundreds of miles away are sharing in the grief of the Scranton community. Many say the reality of death in their profession looms large, but being together is part of the pathway to healing.

Mourners will have another opportunity to pay their respects Wednesday afternoon at the Hughes Funeral Home, St. Anne St., Scranton from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Street, Scranton at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Captain Robeson's Funeral Mass will be carried live, in its entirety, by WBRE
