FOREST CITY, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY - Friday was a big day for hundreds of band students in Susquehanna County. Nearly 250 students from 44 different schools came together for a big festival at Forest City High School.

The sound of music filled the high school as the students practiced for the District 9 Festival.

"It's just an opportunity to get to play with the best and the best directors and the best instructors," 7th grader Zach Beeman said.

"It's fun to meet new people because they're really nice and it's fun to talk to them and see how they learn," 7th grader Lana Sicurella said.

The students were broken down into two groups based on their grades. For some, it was their first chance to practice with other students.

"I usually just practice with me and another girl and it's crazy with all those people," student Taylor Youngbottomly said.

The students are sponsoring a special concert at 7:00 PM Friday night at Forest City High School.
