WILKES-BARRE , LUZERNE COUNTY- Millions of federal dollars will buy hybrid buses for the Luzerne County Transportation Authority. More than 3.1 million dollars has been earmarked for the environmentally friendly fleet. The busses will run on a combination of diesel and electricity. They plan on having five hybrid buses on the road by November. The new buses will replace old vehicles and it will cut down on pollution. It will also save about 40-percent in fuel costs for the LCTA.
