SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A truck fire brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 81 during the afternoon rush in Lackawanna County.

The tractor trailer crashed and caught fire near the River Street exit around 3:00 P. M. Both northbound lanes of I- 81 were closed for about a half hour.

PennDOT says that section of Interstate 81 will be down to one lane until 9:00 this evening. Traffic was backed up for miles as crews continued to clean up the mess.
