SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY --It's the treasured keepsake of the most important day in a couple's life. The wedding album. But dozens of newlyweds don't have theirs.. And now their photographer --is out of business.

Consumer reporter Jeff Chirico has received emails from a number of couples who paid thousands of dollars for wedding albums they never received. When I contacted the photographer --he agreed to sit down with me to share his side of a sad story.

Brian Davies says "they say men define themselves by what they did. And this is what I did. I was the king in Scranton for a long time." But now Davies --a once respected wedding photographer -- has blurred his picture-perfect image.

Matt Borosky says “I’m angry. Disgusted with them. That they could do this to us." Matt and Rebecca Borosky of Carbondale are one of 30 couples who are waiting for their wedding albums. They paid four grand --and only have a dvd of their pictures two years after they tied the knot. Rebecca Borosky says "it is one of the most important days of your life and to have no pictures, I think that's horrible.

Kathy Johnson says “I just miss the fact that we don't have an album to show people." Kathy Johnson of Glenburn says her daughter Meghan who now lives in Ohio --is another victim. We're told a number of couples called Davies. Left messages but nothing developed.

The newlyweds tell us, eventually they couldn't even get through because the phone number had been disconnected. And when they came down to his office on north Main Avenue, they found the place completely cleared out.

Davies says “I'm broke." Davies says health problems and a drop in business forced him to give up his office and file bankruptcy. His wife left him. His home is set for sheriff sale. “Once everything came crashing down I don't think I left the house. I was devastated."

Rebecca Borosky says “I have empathy for them, but we want our pictures. We paid a lot of money." Chirico asks Davies "what do you say to the couples who are waiting for the keepsake of the most important days of their lives?" Davies responds “I will do my best once I get on my feet. It's not right I know it. I'm doing one by one. Hopefully honoring his vow to capture their vows.

Davies says he's started sending cd’s of the photos to his customers. He also plans to sign waivers allowing someone else to print the images.

Chirico is blogging about other wedding nightmares. To join the conversation, go to
