HAZLE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- First responders were on the move Sunday morning in lower Luzerne County but it wasn't because of an emergency. Nearly a dozen people took part in an ice diving training class in Hazle Township.
They learned how to save people who fall into the water while also keeping themselves safe. As ice on area ponds and lakes softens, this training may unfortunately become necessary. Tobyhanna Army Depot Firefighter Keith DiPatri said, When you're normal scuba-diving, you can come up wherever you want. This puts another extreme to it, where you have to come up in a hole that s made there."

Sunday's training session was put together by the Luzerne County Sheriff's Office.
