MONTROSE, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY - A Susquehanna County man already accused of trying to meet a teen-age girl on the internet for sex is in more trouble.

This time police say he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl. Investigators say these charges are an indirect result of the internet probe.

33-year-old Susquehanna County Prison inmate Duane Anderson was brought up Friday morning on new charges -- just three weeks after a prior arrest.

This time he's accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl last June at his Great Bend home. Anderson was first arrested December 30th. That's when a state attorney general's investigation led to Anderson charged with trying to arrange a sexual encounter on the internet with a 13-year-old girl. It was actually an undercover cop.

"This man should not be on the streets," said Trooper Mark Mulvey of the Gibson barracks.

He leads the child sex assault investigation against Anderson. He says Anderson had previous access to the victim.

When the girl's mother learned of the internet sex case against Anderson, she asked her daughter if he ever did anything to her. The child broke down and cried and told her mom he did.

"With a girl so young and for him to take advantage of someone like that, hopefully she can someday eventually put it behind her," said Trooper Mulvey.

The charges against Anderson include felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and aggravated indecent assault. "To hear a man that did what he did not only with the A-G;'s office thinking he was meeting a 13-year-old girl to do the acts that he did to this child. And to think that he's going to get... he said that he thinks he can get 6-months and probation out of this," said Trooper Mulvey.

Anderson will remain locked up at Susquehanna County Prison on $125,000 bail until his preliminary hearing January 28th in New Milford.
