HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The Min-Sec detention facility in Hazleton is back in the news after state police say another person escaped.

Troopers say 48-year-old Edward Eugene Hardee did not return to the halfway house Friday after he was permitted to go to the Wilkes-Barre area. He was picked up by police Saturday on Public Square.

Min-Sec has been in the news a lot recently. Last week another person escaped but was later caught.

We talked with a former prisoner and people in lower Luzerne County about the situation.

Former Prisoner William Davis said, "I think its a very good facility. Its ran very good. People make bad choices. I don't think its fair what the media does to them."

Nadine Veet of Hazleton said, "It's terrible. I think that we don't have the security that we used to feel anymore and I think something really should be done with it."

Burt Dura of Hazle Township said, "As long as they control it, it wouldn't be bad, but they don't seem to have control."
