Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day. And plenty of irish eyes were smiling at a number of events.

Our first stop was in Dickson City at the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick Dinner. A large group was there to honor their heritage at Genetti's in Dickson City.

The guest speaker was Art Rooney II, President of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Greater Wilkes-Barre were also enjoying the evening together. he keynote speaker for their gathering was former New York Yankee shortstop Bucky Dent.

Jack McCarthy was honored as the Man of the Year by the group. This event was held at the Ramanda on Public Square.

And not to be outdone, the ladies were also celebrating. Eyewitness News stopped by the Irish Women's Society Banquet at the Scranton Cultural Center.

The guest speaker for the evening was Judy McClaine. Our Kristi Capel was the mistress of ceremonies for the night's events.
