JERSEY SHORE, LYCOMING COUNTY- Eight people are homeless after an early morning fire. Flames destroyed a single family home at 566 High Street in Jersey Shore.

No one was hurt. We are told the victims' dog alerted family members, who were able to escape the flames.

The victim's are now staying with relatives and getting help from the Red Cross. Joy Hanner with the North Central PA Red Cross said, "Just being there as a support system for them is a wonderful feeling. I think that’s why so many of us are in the Red Cross, it’s why we're here, to help others."

Officials say the fire started in the back of the house. Damages are estimated at more than $150,000 dollars.
