SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - A Jessup man will spend at least five and a half years in prison in connection with a deadly shooting. Christopher Hahn was sentenced Wednesday afternoon in Lackawanna County.
Hahn pleaded guilty in May to charges of voluntary manslaughter. He admitted killing his older brother Stephen at their home in Jessup in February 2008.
Prosecutors say the two brothers had an argument. Exactly what motivated the deadly shooting is still not known.
Theo Hahn, the mother of both the victim and the suspect was in the courtroom Wednesday afternoon. She asked the judge to be merciful in his sentencing. She says she has forgiven her son for the deadly shooting.
Christopher Hahn also addressed the judge. He admitted that he was ashamed by the shooting and still thinks about it everyday.
Defense lawyers say they are considering an appeal of the sentence. | |
