WYOMING, LUZERNE COUNTY- One of the lead witnesses who testified against Judge Ann Lokuta during her misconduct trial claims she was tailgated, yelled and cursed at by the judge's executive secretary, Maureen Gushanas.
The incident is alleged to have happened during afternoon rush hour in Wyoming. Two independent sources say that lead witness, Susan Weber, filed a report with a Wyoming Police officer after the alleged altercation. A source said Gushanas is accused of following Weber up busy Route 11 while tailgating, yelling, cursing and at one point, making an obscene gesture.
Sources say no witnesses have come forward to substantiate Weber's claims. Weber once worked for Judge Lokuta and offered a callous picture of Lokuta while on the stand in her misconduct trial in September 2006.
The supposed incident would have happened two hours after Judge Lokuta was suspended from the bench. Last week, she was found in violation of more than two dozen codes of judicial conduct. Reached by phone Thursday afternoon, Weber declined to comment.
Wyoming Police are only saying about the matter there was a miscellaneous service call at 4:58 p. m.. Mayor Bob Boyer said "the case is now closed." Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll referred all questions to the Wyoming Police department.
Maureen Gushanas spoke with Eyewitness News about the apparent accusations contained within the report. She denied the story, saying it was contrived out of a mission to discredit her. Gushanas said she was busy doing other things and was no where near Wyoming at the time of the supposed report.
