WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Tuesday night was Christmas Eve for many people celebrating under the Julian Calendar.
Eyewitness News stopped by Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre for Christmas Eve. A few churches in our area still celebrate Christmas in January.
Wednesday those of the Orthodox Russian and Greek faith will Celebrate Christmas. The Rt. Rev. Paul White told us many people observe a strict fast on Christmas Eve when they enjoy their holy supper and then head to church to welcome the birth of Christ on Christmas Eve.
