Junior League of Wilkes-Barre Presents Donation to Ruth's Place - Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 12:31PM EST
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY-Ruth's Place, a shelter for women, received a much needed donation tonight.
The Junior League of Wilkes-Barre presented a check for 24-thousand dollars to the shelter.
The Junior League helps non-profit groups improve the lives of women and children in the valley. Katherine Mihalick the Junior League President told us that the group adopted the shelter has its community service project. The money will help with the renovations of the new shelter on Butler Street in WIlkes-Barre.
Julie Benjamin of Ruth's Place told us that the shelter helped its largest group of women in May. They help 800 women with shelter and other services. They added the donation from the Junior League is very much appreciated and will greatly help with Ruth's Place. | | |
