DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY - Plumes of thick smoke filled the sky over one part of Luzerne County Saturday afternoon after a junkyard fire in Duryea.

Firefighters say several cars and tires went up in flames behind Duryea Auto Parts on Clarke Road just before 2:00 PM. WYOU News was not allowed on the junkyard property, but the flames and smoke were visible thoughout town.

Right now, there is no word on what sparked the junkyard fire in Duryea.
