Juvenile Reform Discussed

Juvenile Reform Discussed - Friday, August 28, 2009 at 12:10PM EST

Friday, Aug 28, 2009 @ 12:10am EST
Juvenile court reform. That was the topic of discussion tonight at a meeting by the Advocacy Alliance. That's the counseling service launched by the state to help families affected by the Luzerne County Court Scandal.
Our Joe Holden spoke with two women with the Alliance, who presided at tonight's meeting at Genetti's in Wilkes-Barre.
They say they got some great input to help fix the system.

Kathy Wallace of Advocacy Alliance said they got some great input , "I think the thing that really made a difference to me and we heard it from every family member that was here, is that the juvenile justice system shouldn't split up families."

Wendy Luckenbill of Advocacy Alliance added "Clearly we need to put in some kind of accountability system that's going to insure that families and youth aren't manipulated and abused by a system that's in place to really protect them."

The Advocacy Alliance plans to have two more meetings like the one they held tonight.
