KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Dozens of students were thank for the snow that gave them an extra vacation day away from school.
"Our Christmas break starts after today, so we have a 19 day break now or something like that," said Nick Cheek, a Wyoming Valley West student. "It's going to be pretty fun."
Families and friends were enjoying the sledding, even the crashing. Even we got in on the fun with a friendly sled race.
Matt Kowalski of Larksville was surprised he lost to two ladies, including an Eyewitness News reporter.
"I didn't know what you meant by 'go,'" Kowalski said. "An old woman beat me."
Mariah Carey of Kingston enjoyed the race.
"It was really cool," said Carey. "I wish I could do it again."
And while most of the kids simply enjoyed another day away from the classroom, some were still attempting to learn something -- just not from books.
"I"m just trying to learn to snowboard," said Tara Judge of Kingston. "That's about it for today." | |
