KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY- Flowers mark the area where 32 year old Sharon Shaugnessy was killed. She was struck down as she walked on Wyoming avenue last august. Three vehicles hit her. Two of the drivers who fled the scene were charged. They are 23 year old Megan Panowicz of forty fort and 63 year old Linda Giordano of Kingston . Witnesses testified that they saw two cars hit Shaughnessy as she lie on the road. Those cars even went airborne and came down hard, throwing sparks. The judge sent the case to court, but on a less serious charge. Assistant D. A. Mike Vogue was not happy with the ruling. "The judge in his opinion determined that we didn't prove that Megan Panowicz knew she caused serious bodily injury or death, or that Mrs. Giordano did know she hit a body, we don't think the judge had the authority to make that ruling based on evidence we think felony charges should have been bound over."
