KINGSTON TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- After weeks of speculation and debate Eyewitness News has learned that two ambulance companies in Luzerne County will not merge.
Officials with the Kingston Township Ambulance Association voted Sunday afternoon not to merge with nearby Dallas Township.

Some officials were hoping the merger could have saved Kingston Township money in the long run. David Landmesser of the Kingston Township Ambulance Association said, We're doing the best we can. We have some financial issues. We address everything and we're trying to do the best thing for the community."

Over the last three months Kingston Township ambulance officials say they've gained more volunteers and members and therefore didn't see the need to merge.
