The tough economy means more people are utilizing Luzerne County Transportation Authority buses. And more people on the buses also means more chances for bacteria to spread - that's why the LCTA is taking extra buses out of service for extra cleaning time
Ed Brooks, is an LCTA Assistant Maintenance Supervisor, he told us. “There's no extra cost --what's the cost to keep people healthy - we'll do whatever we have to keep the public safe.”
That's why every bus in service is getting brought in for a thorough cleaning during this period of the swine flu outbreak.
“We’re doing a lot better cleaning”, says Bus Repairman Rick Boback, “Using a lot more Lysol, steam cleaning we're really buckling down.”
And even though you don't have to buckle up to ride the bus - you can help out - and buckle down as well using good hygiene and taking your garbage with you --put your tissues in your pocket or the garbage. | |
