SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Two judges in Lackawanna County hope the judicial corruption scandal in Luzerne County won't hurt their retention bids.

Judges Terrence Nealon and Michael Barrasse took part in a rally on Courthouse Square in Scranton Monday morning.

Both judges are asking to be elected to another 10-year term Tuesday. They're asking the public to look at the programs they've implemented instead of focusing on problems in neighboring Luzerne County.

ÒAll I ask is to be judged on my own individual record rather than on the record of any other judges from any other jurisdiction," said Nealon.

ÒWe really feel as though the people have been able to look at myself and Terry and say this is a different situation in Lackawanna County, the records that we've built and the programs that we have in place, that are used in national models," added Barrasse.

Neither judge has mounted an organized campaign for retention in Lackawanna County.
