Lackawanna County Courthouse Evacuated - Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00AM EST

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Everything's back to normal at the Lackawanna County Courthouse after a smoke scare.

The courthouse had to shut down around 9:00 Tuesday morning forcing everyone out and keeping others from entering.

The problem was an emergency generator that malfunctioned during its weekly test. Air dampers that should’ have closed during the test failed forcing smoke into the building. Construction workers were able to stop the problem.

The building was vented before everyone was allowed to re-enter.
