SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - An Old Forge woman, who pleaded guilty in connection with a child endangerment case, learned her fate in court Wednesday.

Wendy Watkins will spend six months under house arrest and then three years on probation. She admitted to videotaping two people giving a two-year-old girl tequila and cigarettes last year.

"My sentence was fair, yes. I believe it was fair. I can't walk out any happier than what I am today," Watkins said as she left the courthouse. "It was the wrong time, wrong place, wrong people I was hanging with. You know they say people, places and things in life and they're right. I've learned that going through all my programs."

Watkins admits since the incident she has been going through drug treatment court and counseling. Her brother, Ken Watkins, is spending up to seven years in prison for his role in the crime. His girlfriend, Jessica O'Donnell, received up to three years behind bars.

"They had an addiction problem. Alcohol was a big thing in their life and I don't think they realized what they were doing. It was more of a disease in their head," Watkins said.

Watkins says she is ready to move on with her life and her own two children.

"I'm happy I can be home with my children. That's the best thing in life right now and I get to spend my life with my kids again," Watkins said.
