TAYLOR, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

Employees at Alliance Landfill in Taylor are, again, donating Christmas food boxes to local families in need.

A team of volunteers met at Alliance's Community Center Monday morning to fill the boxes. Each contains a frozen turkey, stuffing mix, vegetables, eggs, a pie, butter, and canned goods.

27 of the boxes go to the families of children at several local Head Start Centers. Others are delivered to individuals or families that have been identified by area service agencies or landfill employees as being in need of assistance.

Its the fifth year Alliance has participated in the community service project.
