DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY Š A New YearÕs Eve celebration will be the last hoorah for a landmark restaurant in Luzerne County.

Pickets Charge in the Back Mountain will close its doors Thursday night at 9:00. The Dallas restaurant has been serving people for the past 31 years.

We found many faithful customers having their last meal at the family restaurant. Erika Goyne of Shavertown said, "My sister and I decided to meet here this morning, kind of in memory of my grandmother. She passed away last summer. She would always bring us here. Great memories. Great memories. She made sure we were on our best behavior here. And it was family here."

Owner Tom Pickett said, "I just want to go and enjoy myself and retire. ItÕs a lot of pressure, lots of pressure in the restaurant."

There is a silver lining for Pickett's customers. The owners of Leggio's Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant in Plains Township are opening a second restaurant there. Leggio's Back Mountain is expected to open in the spring.
