PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY - A popular holiday tradition got off on the right track Saturday afternoon in Luzerne County.

The Hudson Model Railroad Club began holding open houses for its annual holiday train display Saturday afternoon. Its the largest model railroad in Northeast Pennsylvania with more than 17-hundred square feet of track.

It has been on display for more than 20 years. This year's new scenes include a harbor scene, paper mill facility and re-built Minooka Fuel Building.

"Overall, things are running pretty smoothly. The people that are here seem to be enjoying it. They're fascinated by a number of things they see and that's good," railroad club secretary Harry Yelen said.

Admission to the display is free, but donations will be accepted.

The display will be open every Saturday, and select Sunday, through early January.
