Tuesday March 23 2010
The last of three men wanted in a deadly Shenandoah shooting turned himself in. Bruce Forker was gunned down in front of his girlfriend and daughters last week. Investigators say the manhunt for his killers ended late Monday night in Brooklyn , New York . That's a relief to Forker's neighbors. Deborah Ulicny of Shenandoah said, "It's scary, so to have them all caught, I'm glad and they need to put them underneath the jail house." Damon Ennet of Freeland, Julius Enoe of Berks County and Jahmal Ollivirre of Brooklyn have been arrested. Stefanie Meskunas of Frackville works in Shenandoah and said, "It's great news. I feel comfortable and confident that police were able to catch the suspects and it just feels safe and ok again." Police haven't said why the men targeted Forker. He was shot and killed on the second floor at his Centre Street apartment in Shenandoah. Police say the three men burst in, demanded cash and when Forker gave it to them, they shot him in front of his girlfriend and 5 year old. Rich Sterner lives across the street from Forker's apartment. "He was a nice guy, you know what I mean? Quiet, didn't bother anybody," said sterner. Forker's family told Eyewitness News he was completing his G-E-D and planned to go to trade school this year. He was the youngest of 15 children.
