WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- The investigation into corruption continues in Luzerne County. A sentencing date has been set for a former court administrator and rumors continue to swirl about the resignation of Jim Height.
A sentencing date has been set for former Court Administrator William Sharkey. He plead guilty to stealing some $70,000 in confiscated gambling money that were supposed to be sued by the county treasurer. He faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced on August 6th.
The I-Team has also learned that the investigation involving corruption in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District is continuing. Sources tell the I-Team that former Wilkes-Barre Area School Board President Jim Height's name keeps coming up.
He resigned suddenly from the board Tuesday. He has not been charged or accused of any wrong doing. But we do know he has been question by the F. B.I. | |
