Williamsport, Lycoming County-

It was part two of an economic development summit in Lycoming County Monday.

Local leaders met at Penn College in Williamsport to brainstorm potential opportunities in retail and commercial development.

They considered ways to adapt and re-use stagnant areas of local business districts. They also addressed how urban and rural development can best co-exist.

Williamsport/ Lycoming Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vince Matteo said, “There’s no one group that has all the answers, no one individual that has all the answers. So really the success will be measured by how we go down the road working together and listening to each other.”

The first phase of the summit was held back in September. It focused on industrial development.
