var images = new Array(); NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY - These aren't your father's Legos for sure. KIds are building moving robots with the toy.
Several children ages 9, 10 and 11 are taking part this week in at Luzerne County Community College.
They're learning about such things as construction, gearing and speed and torque by building the robots from scratch.
Kids are also using computers to program the robots on how they should sound, how fast they should go and when to start and stop.
LCCC Robotics Program Instructor Rich Schell says kids have to execute a detailed plan because "A robot is essentially very dumb."
Schell says the summer camp experience will give campers a better understanding of their environment in an increasing growing robotics world.
He says it will also give them a lot more options when they grow up and choose a career. | |
