LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- They once left the doors to their homes and cars unlocked, but not anymore.
Rose Goss is the Manager at Country Crest Trailer Park and said, "It's horrible. Please. It's our neighborhood and we have children around."
After more than two-decades in this quiet community, vandals have some people living here on edge.Rose Goss added, "We've been here for 23 years and nothing. It's a nice place to live."
13 cars were broken into and ransacked overnight. Two vehicles stolen, this Ford already recovered. Rose and ‘Buddy” Goss run the place. The couple and their two grown daughters are all victims. Buddy Goss also spoke with WBRE News,"Yeah, two of my cars were broken into more or less broke into the glove compartment and what's in it, change out of it."
Police don't know what to think.Officer Anthony Kowalczyk said, "Usually it's a quiet area. Nobody bothers anyone. Our call volume isn't too high."
Not much was taken besides CDs, $10.00 and loose change. Officer Anthony Kowalczyk added, "A couple female cars were broken into. Purses were gone through, $200.00 was in one of them, it wasn’t touched, and not sure what they're looking for."
One thing is certain, authorities are looking for a white Chevy Corsica with a missing gas cap and a dark blue extended Chevy pickup. Police stated, “One may be occupied by juveniles.”
In recent weeks a mobile home was also broken into. If you have any information call the Lehman Township Police Department.
