CARBONDALE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Classes at Carbondale Area Elementary School will remain canceled through Friday because of some lightning damage at the school.
Carbondale Area School District officials say lightning struck the elementary school on Tuesday night causing damage to the alarm system.
As a safety precaution they decided to call off classes for the rest of the week.
The repairs to the elementary school's alarm system are expected to take until Friday to complete.
