South Williamsport, Lycoming County-

Ballplayers from around the globe are getting ready to take part in the 62nd Little League World Series.

It's a jaw dropping prospect- playing ball on the biggest stage in youth sports. We set out to learn how the players involved view the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

So we spent the day with the Great Lakes Region representatives from Jeffersonville, Indiana. Kids we spoke with say they're thankful just to have the opportunity.

Indiana outfielder Nick Thompson noted, "It's definitely the best field I've ever seen. It's just amazing being able to make it here. Being with all your friends and meeting new people."

When they're not playing baseball, team members enjoy their temporary homes at the International Grove, check out all the newest baseball products, and learn a lot about other cultures.

Indiana shortstop/ pitcher Chandler Dale said, "Actually…I was playing ping pong with the Japanese team, so it's pretty cool...It's kind of hard keeping score and stuff like that because you don't really know what they're saying."

And while there's no doubt they're having fun, these teams say nothing will break their focus from playing the best baseball of their lives.

Indiana second baseman Ben Shahroudi explained, "I'll just be working on trying hard and staying focused on the game, not so much all the other stuff. Just focusing on the World Series and we're going to play hard and try to win."

Each team has several practice sessions scheduled before the tournament starts on Friday.

But regardless of who wins or loses, it's an experience these kids won't soon forget. Shahroudi added, "I just want to take away memories and remember the time that I got to play in the Little League World Series."

Thursday night at seven, all the little leaguers in this year's tournament will be featured in the grand slam parade through Williamsport.
