MILLVILLE, COLUMBIA COUNTY- Dozens in Columbia County took part in a solemn Good Friday tradition this morning.

More than 100 people from the very young to the very old carried a life-sized cross throughout the streets of Millville.

The "Millville Ministerium" held its annual cross walk today. Organizers say the quiet procession is an observance of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

People who took part in the walk say they want to remember why Good Friday is so important. Brigette Bish of Millville says, “We think its very important Christ did a lot for us and does a lot for us everyday. We need to show our children that it just doesn't happen on Sundays."

This is the sixth year for the Cross Walk in Columbia County.
