Muncy, Lycoming County-
A Muncy man is set to hike nearly 2,200 miles along the Appalachian Trail to benefit a local organization.
Ryan Boatman is a 21-year-old personal trainer who’s worked with the Eastern Lycoming YMCA.
He’ll be leaving on April 3rd to begin his hike from Georgia to Maine.
Boatman says a lot of planning has gone into the trip, including scheduling mail drops of food and supplies.
He will be on the trail for nearly six months.
Boatman noted, “You know I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors. I like to go outside, get some peace and quiet, a little slower paced from our normal lifestyle.”
Ryan hopes to raise money for children and families who can’t afford YMCA memberships.
