SNYDERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY -- Pastor John Laurent is originally from Haiti and established two churches there. His 12-year-old son, Davidson, survived the earthquake more than two weeks ago.
Laurent is currently in Haiti, trying to get a first-hand look at what's most needed, before the Christian Life Healing Center church in Snydersville heads back down to Haiti next month with supplies.
Laurent is also trying to gauge how many children are now homeless, and without parents, and how the adoption process works for local people interested.
Another employee at the church, Minister Cooper Marotta, hopes to update the church's web site regularly with updates from Laurent.
If you'd like to donate money to help buy food and other necessary supplies for people in Haiti, you can find information on the church's web site at: and . The church is able to wire money to a banker in Haiti who can then give the direct help to Laurent.
