Loganton, Clinton County - Charges have been filed in the shooting death of a soldier formerly from Clinton County.
36-year-old sergeant David Cooper died in September in Iraq of what was called at the time a non-combat injury.
The military now says 21-year-old soldier Timothy Ayers fatally shot Cooper but does not believe the killing was premeditated or that Ayers shot with intent to kill.
Cooper grew up in Loganton and his parents still live in Rauchtown.
