HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY- Lt. Govenor Catherine Baker Knoll died Wednesday evening surrounded by family in a Washington D. C. hospital. She was diagnosed in July with neuroendocrine cancer. Governor Rendell released a statement writing "we mourn the passing of one of the strongest, most dedicated public servants in Pennsylvania's history.

Knoll was 78.
