WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- It's lunchtime at Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre.

There are a lot of hungry teenagers to feed and the menu is full of favorites.

But lunch lady, Agnes Hummel, 78, from Wilkes-Barre is not there.

Hummel's supervisor at Meyers High School, Stacey Krawczeniuk, said "Her name is Agnes we call her Aggie. When children come in they look for her. Some call her grandma!"

For the first time in 40 years, Hummel missed work.

Her car was stolen.

Her heart was broken.

Hummel said, "I did take good care of the car. I really loved it because it was sentimental to me. My brother Frank Casella bought it for me 9 years ago. I was always good to my family. You deserve it enjoy it."

Her brother has since died.

The 2000 green Honda Civic was parked in front of her home as it always was.

Overnight it was stolen.

"I got this car I felt very safe in it. I took good care of it. All my Italian music is in it. I used to play them in memory of my parents," said Hummel.

Now, for the first time in her life, she does not feel safe.

Hummel says, "I always felt safe here in my neighborhood. The neighbors are wonderful, always felt safe but now I don't . If they took my car, what will they take next?"
