WYOMING AND DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY- Police are looking into whether several robberies Monday morning are related.
The first business that was hit was the Price Chopper in Wyoming. It happened just after 6:00 a.m.
The bandit threatened a clerk with a hammer and took off with cash.
Less than an hour later, another supermarket in Duryea was also robbed in a similar fashion.
Police say the suspect was a white man, who was wearing a red hat and driving a white truck.
Officer Kenneth Karns, Wyoming Police Department, said, "The same description on the vehicle was given, the same description on the assailant was given. The only difference was the shirt. I believe he may have changed his shirt."
Police are also looking into whether the two robberies are connected to a third hold-up at the Turkey Hill on East Main Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Investigators say the bandit used hedge clippers in that hold-up.
